Beginners' stone carving workshop

Take part in a stone carving workshop

On a small block of soft limestone, sculpt the design of your choice. Take home a souvenir of Guédelon!

Workshop open to all, adults and children from 6 years

The workshops are scheduled according to the availability of our workshop leaders. The timetable for workshops is regularly updated.

The workshops are run in French. Non French-speakers are welcome to join in. Whilst we cannot guarantee that an English-speaker will be available, our workshop leaders will make all participants welcome.

Archaeology workshop

Learn about different types of archaeology, step into the shoes of a field archaeologists and take part in a reconstruction of an archaeological excavation.

Tools in hand, search for artefacts in the model trench and come up with your own theories to explain their presence.

Workshop length: 1hr15

Guided tour of the pioneers (in French)

‘The beautiful story of Guédelon as told by its pioneers’, a unique guided tour of the highlights of the Guédelon adventure in the company of an experienced builder!

Duration: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes.

Supplement of €5 / person aged 10 and over. This tour may be difficult to understand for children under 10. If children under 10 are nevertheless present for this thematic tour, please purchase a Free Children's Thematic Tour ticket.

Botanical tour of Guédelon gardens (in french)

Come and discover the gardens of Guédelon with our herbalist. Stroll through the various themed gardens on the site and observe the useful plants with their many virtues: edible, medicinal, dyeing, etc. Rediscover these plants that were essential to our ancestors but are forgotten today. Duration: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes.

TECHNICAL VISIT TO GUEDELON (in French)

DISCOVERING THE GUEDELON FOREST (in French)

Take advantage of this special opportunity to discover the Guédelon forest and the use of wood in our construction. A walk off the beaten track to rediscover the forest that surrounds us.

VISIT TO GUEDELON'S WILD ANIMALS (in French)

Guédelon has held the ‘Refuges LPO’ label for many years. Despite its tourist activity, the frameworks, walls and archways of the castle are very popular with wildlife. More than 235 species of birds, amphibians and insects have been recorded on our site by LPO agents.

Accompanied by a nature guide, discover the wild animals that inhabit the site and the castle: titmice, swallows, redstarts, wrens, barn owls, bats... not forgetting the amphibians: salamanders, newts, frogs... and strange insects such as the hoverfly or the very useful dung beetle...

Please note that as this tour focuses on wild animals, sightings are not guaranteed.
Duration: approx. 1h15-1h30; this tour requires good walking skills.
